Track Plans

This page contains pointers to track plans for N-Trak modules, outlines of show "set-ups", and so forth. For now, I make no attempt to organize them; eventually, I hope to have them arranged in a searchable index.

The Falls (12658 bytes) Article by Bob Utley. Designed and built by Bob Utley.
!-UPDATED-! 25-Mar-1998:
There was a link to the actual track plan in this article, but I had broken it in the editing process. It is now fixed. Take a look!

Huddersfield (12658 bytes) Designed by Rand Hoven and Dennis Rockwell. Drawn by Rand Hoven. Constructed by Rand Hoven and Dennis Rockwell.

The Goutal family layout (6276 bytes) This layout integrates two 1'x4' 'bridge' modules with two 2'-square modules to produce a compact oval that can be used either for continuous running or for operations. The two bridge modules have the standard N-Trak red, yellow, and blue lines, and can be used in normal N-Trak setups. The two square end modules were originally built as a Christmas-time layout for an N-scale set given to the kids by their grandparents. Designed and drawn by Rand Hoven. Constructed by Kenn Goutal and family.

Kennsbridge (4372 bytes, GIF) ( PostScript version : 13994 bytes) This is a detailed track plan of the rear 'bridge' in the Goutal family layout. It was the first module planned, but has yet to have track laid. It was originally designed to hold a maximum number of RDC's ('Buddcars') and other MBTA equipment for display purposes as well as to stage them for use in a public setup. With Rand's ingenious design, it can double duty as a junction between the oval 'main line' and a branch line. Designed by Kenn Goutal. Drawn by Rand Hoven. Constructed by Kenn Goutal.
