I’m retired and interested in building an N gauge layout. I have built a 4’ X 8’ table. I am stumped at finding a detailed track plan. I’d like to be able to run three trains on the layout. Planning on a mountain/tunnel, and town. But, I can’t get started without knowing exactly what track and switches to order. I would be happy to pay for this plan. I live in Brookline Masssachusetts.

Layout planning depends on what you want to do with it. What era are you going for, and what will your railroad do? Mining, lumber, passenger service? Do you want some switching or are you primarily interested in seeing trains do laps? All of these will factor in to a final track plan.
Thanks Larry. I am hoping to have switching, and ideally able to run three trains. Haven’t really thought about mining, lumber, etc. maybe a station in the foreground, with a small town, and countryside for the rest of the layout. I feel stymied until I know exactly what track to buy to fit my 4’by8’ table.
